Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight contender Paulo Costa is having the best weight cut of his career, recently posting a video of his fight week preparations in advance of the UFC 253 pay-per-view (MMA) main event.
“He is having the best weight cut ever,” Coach Wallid Ismail told Sherdog.com. “Normally he weighs 200 pounds two days before the weigh-in, this time he is already weighing 200 pounds today, so there is no reason for concern.”
Costa (13-0) has been given five rounds to try to capture the middleweight crown from reigning 185-pound kingpin Israel Adesanya this Sat. night (Sept. 26, 2020) inside Flash Forum on “Fight Island” (Yas Island) in Abu Dhabi.
“You know it is a joke to me,” Costa told TSN about steroid accusations. “I have a great team by my side, the best of the best, I have good doctors, good trainers, good condition, and physical trainers, I have a bunch of very, very high-quality people around me. And, I believe I have some kind of genetics that help me and I love to train and work out. When you put all these ingredients and mix them, you have a great result.”
Hopefully he doesn’t mean this doctor.
