His Facebook account remains active.
Struggling Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight contender, Darren Till, appears to have deleted his social media profiles, including Twitter and Instagram, in the wake of his legal troubles last weekend in Costa Adeje.
“The Gorilla” found himself in hot water after reportedly trashing a hotel room, then zooming away in a taxi cab with a couple of his cronies. Fortunately, they were able to buy their way out of trouble and avoid any serious penalties.
“I’ll be honest and I shouldn’t really say this on a podcast, but come on who hasn’t [messed up a hotel room],” retired middleweight Michael Bisping said on his official podcast (via MMA News). “And I’ve never trashed a hotel room, but I’ve definitely had hotel rooms that when I left you could describe them as being trashed. I remember when I fought Matt Hamill we had a nice hotel room and then we had a party and there was about 30 or 40 people in there. It was a big suite and then at the end of it everyone left and it was a mess.”
Till (17-2, 1 NC) was on the cusp on UFC superstardom, but failed to capture the welterweight title from Tyron Woodley at UFC 228. His follow-up fight against Jorge Masvidal ended in a knockout loss and sent “The Gorilla” to the No. 6 spot in the official rankings.
In the wake of his “Gamebred” defeat, Till — still just 26 — took to Instagram to tell his fans that he needed time to refocus after losing himself over the last year. Hopefully his exit from social media is indicative of both personal and professional changes.
