Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is bringing combat sports fans a championship doubleheader at the upcoming UFC 227 pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif., on Sat., Aug. 4, 2018.
UFC 227 will be headlined by the bantamweight grudge match between reigning 135-pound kingpin TJ Dillashaw and ex-champion Cody Garbrandt, who first went to war at UFC 217 last November. The result was a knockout loss for “No Love.”
In the UFC 227 co-headliner, longtime flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson will give Olympic medalist Henry Cejudo another crack at the crown, after delivering “The Messenger” his first pro defeat way back at UFC 197.
To get fans hyped for this weekend’s face-punching extravaganza, the promotion has released episode one of its popular “Embedded” video blog series focusing on all four main and co-main combatants.
From the official YouTube channel:
On Episode 1 of UFC 227 Embedded, flyweight title challenger Henry Cejudo incorporates military-grade reaction drills and hot-weather hikes into his workout schedule. Dominant champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson braves a pet store with his children before hitting the gym. Bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw embraces his first training camp as a father, as opponent Cody Garbrandt and team take a private plane to Los Angeles. UFC 227 Embedded is an all-access, behind-the-scenes video blog leading up to the two world title rematches taking place Saturday, August 4th on Pay-Per-View.
