Highly touted featherweight prospect Chad Mendes (5-0 MMA, 0-0 WEC) is
likely to make his promotional debut at WEC 47 on March 6 in Columbus, Ohio.
Mendes and fellow undefeated 145-pounder Erik Koch (8-0 MMA, 1-0 WEC)
have verbally agreed to the contest, and bout agreements are expected
to be finalized shortly.
Official word of Mendes’ inclusion on the card was shared today on the
WEC’s official Twitter account, and MMAWeekly.com later reported the
matchup with Koch. MMAjunkie.com has since
confirmed the targeted matchup with sources close to the event.
