Jorge Masvidal is perhaps the hottest fighter in the game at the moment, as everyone wants a piece of “Gamebred” following his back-to-back knockout wins over Darren Till and Ben Askren.
In fact, he is so in demand that Nate Diaz called him out personally, which lead to the promotion creating a “Baddest Motherfucker” belt, which will be up for grabs when the two men collide at UFC 244 on Nov. 2, 2019 in New York City.
But he knows he has his work cut out for him at Welterweight, perhaps the most stacked division in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Still, Jorge is on a mission to baptize everyone that crosses his way, and if they have hardware, he’s taking that, too.
“I want to take everybody’s head that’s in the top 10,” he said during an interview with Ariel Helwani. “I want to take their head and their soul with it. And if they have some Mickey Mouse title on their waist, I’m gonna take that, too,” he added while praising the talent at 170 pounds.
“Maybe when I look at other divisions, I can see talent, I can see skill set. But when I see my division, I can see I have my work cut out for me, but every single one of these guys, I’m gonna baptize them, man. I’m just gonna separate myself from the pack in as much a way, shape or form as possible.”
A win over Diaz will not only earn him a nice new shiny belt worth $50,000, but it could land him his first-ever shot at a legit UFC world title against Kamaru Usman. And he can thank his former best friend’s demands for that.
