Former UFC heavyweight Konstantin Erokhin not only lost a dreadful fight to Gabriel Gonzaga in December, but he also failed his drug test.

Konstantin Erokhin’s brief UFC career ended with a dismal loss to Gabriel Gonzaga on the TUF 22 Finale prelims back in December. The Russian heavyweight (9-3) was cut after going 0-2 in the promotion, failing to perform as well as he did in Russia, and now he faces a lengthy suspension after the Nevada Athletic Commission confirmed that he failed his pre-fight drug test for drostanolone. MMA Fighting’s Marc Raimondi reported the news on Wednesday.

It’s worth noting that under the recent changes to the NAC’s punishment guidelines, Erokhin stands to be suspended for 3 years as a first-time offender for using anabolic steroids. He will be subject to a disciplinary hearing at some point, but NAC executive director Bob Bennett isn’t sure on a specific date.

Erokhin was the only fighter to test positive for a banned substance out of the entire list of competitors from the UFC’s 3 events (UFC Fight Night 80, TUF 22 Finale, UFC 194) from December 10th-12th. All other results came back clean, per the NAC, and you can take a look at the spreadsheet of the UFC 194 drug testing results in the PDF below. It’s worth noting that Yoel Romero’s drug test failure apparently stemmed from an out-of-competition testtaken after his fight with Jacare Souza, so those results aren’t on here.
