Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight contender, Kevin Lee, overcame some pretty serious shit to become a world-class mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, one who frequently tops major combat sports events.
Like UFC on FOX 31, which marked the best network ratings in over two years.
Following his unanimous decision loss to Al Iaquinta last weekend in Milwaukee, Lee (17-4) received some friendly advice from reigning 155-pound champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov, who advised “Motown Phenom” to stay humble.
Yeah, no.
“I beat racism, the system, poverty, and everybody that wanna see me lose for no reason,” Lee wrote on Instagram. “Fuck being humble.”
Besides, I’m not sure Nurmagomedov is qualified to be handing down humility advice after his little dog-and-eagle show at UFC 229 back in October.
As for Lee, the plan is to remain at 155 pounds; however, “Motown Phenom” is not ruling out a one-off at welterweight if the right opponent presents himself. Until then, the field is wide open for 2019, especially with the division title on ice.
How about that Anthony Pettis fight?
