As the countdown to UFC 228 — which is set to go down on September 8, 2018 in Dallas, Texas — dwindles down, all eyes seem to be focused on Darren Till and his cut down to 170 pounds for his championship fight against Welterweight king, Tyron Woodley.

“The Gorilla” was on the receiving end of some harsh criticism after he missed weight for his fight against Stephen Thompson, coming in 3.5 pounds heavy for his headlining bout in his hometown of Liverpool, England.

Still, after picking up the win, Darren was awarded a championship bout after Colby Covington was deemed medically unfit to take on “The Chosen One” on the proposed date.

Something that didn’t sit too well with Robert Whittaker.

Nevertheless, Darren is confident he will hit his mark come weigh-in day, but in the meantime, the British banger wants to relay a message to everyone who can’t seem to stop talking about his weight.

“It’s shit. I hate cutting weight, I hate making weight, I hate dieting. I’m going to make this weight. I can’t wait to step on the scales. I’m in that moment now, where, you know, I don’t want to train anymore, I don’t want to eat good anymore,” said Till during a recent media scrum in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“I wish I had a hamburger in front of me, but it’s all sacrifices. I made a mistake last time, and I just can’t wait to say ‘fuck you’ to everyone who keeps babbling on about weight. ‘He didn’t make weight, fuck Till.’ Fuck them!”

Till has missed weight for two of his UFC bouts, so it’s easy to see why some people are weary when it comes to his weight cut. Because as this video shows, it’s no easy task.

For his part, Woodley has already gone on record saying he will still go ahead and face Darren should he happen to come in overweight, though the bout will not be for the title should that be the case.

It’s better than the alternative.
