Longtime UFC flyweight contender, Joseph Benavidez, will battle top 125-pound bruiser, Deiveson Figueiredo, for the vacant flyweight title abandoned by Henry Cejudo when the promotion stages its UFC Fight Night 169 event on ESPN+ tomorrow night (Sat., Feb. 29, 2020) inside Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.
Figueiredo, however, will not be eligible to win the belt or receive a post-fight bonus after missing weight on Friday (more on that here).
Benavidez (28-5) is 3-1 since returning from ACL surgery back in June 2018, with a pair of technical knockout finishes. As for Figueiredo (17-1), he’s also 3-1 during that same span, recently choking out Tim Elliott at UFC Tampa.
