Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) interim welterweight champion, Colby Covington, has been trying to use mental warfare ahead of his UFC on ESPN 5 main event against ex-division champion, Robbie Lawler.
Unfortunately for “Chaos,” that shit doesn’t work on a stone-cold killer like “Ruthless.”
The pair came face-to-face on Friday morning at the conclusion of the UFC on ESPN 5 weigh ins (get full results here). Despite some one-sided chatter, there were no extracurricular activities and matchmaker Sean Shelby had no reason to intervene.
Covington (14-1) has captured six straight fights at 170 pounds, including last June’s unanimous decision win over Rafael dos Anjos. Lawler (28-13, 1 NC), meanwhile, returned to competition at UFC 235, where he may or may not have been submitted by Ben Askren.
