Fedor Emelianenko revealed in a recent sit-down interview that his next fight will take place in the Russian Federation.

In a slight case of Deja Vu, Fedor revealed that he is in the Netherlands to train for an upcoming opponent that he is already aware of. It was a move reminiscent of his October 2015 disappearance to Holland with his loyal team of Russian fighters, when he flew to Amsterdam to take part in a trainig camp for the 2-0 Jaideep Singh.

However, there appears to be a slight change in the routine, as the former Pride FC heavyweight champion revealed that his yet-to-be-determined bout is expected to take place in Russia, not Japan.

“My next fight will be in Russia,” Fedor told EpicMMA. “I can’t tell you all the details but I will fight in Russia for my fans. It will be with my whole team who fought beside me last time in Japan.”

Fedor’s team consists of Vadim Nemkov, Anatoly Tokov, Valentin Moldavsky, and Kirill Sidelnikov. All these Russian competitors took part in Rizin Fighting Federation’s inaugural show last December. They also took part in Fedor’s training camp ahead of the fight remained alongside him for the entire trip to Japan.

BloodyElbow has learned from sources close to the situation that Fedor is expected to fight in August 2016.
