Felice Herrig was allegedly involved in a street altercation in Las Vegas after UFC 246
As the night of fights ended at the T-Mobile Arena after UFC 246 on Saturday, there were fisticuffs that apparently broke out in the streets of Las Vegas. It allegedly involved UFC strawweight fighter Felice Herrig.
Herrig shared her side of her story in an Instagram post.
“Just so we all know, I’m innocent,” Herrig explained (transcript by MMA Junkie). “So, a girl stopped in the middle of traffic in (expletive) Vegas. I was like, ‘What the (expletive)?’ It was for a penny. Then, I was giving her (expletive) over it. I’m like, ‘It’s just a penny.’ Then, she got all mad, and then she got all up in my face.”
“I was like, ‘You should probably punch me if you want to,’ and she (expletive) did punch me,” she continued. “Then, I punched her back twice-ish. She gave me a bloody nose and I never bleed my own blood. I was very upset.”
“Now, she’s milking a black eye,” a friend of Herrig added.
The 35-year-old also claimed that she tried to get help from securty, to no avail.
“I was waiting for Vegas security to come and rescue us – and they never did,” she said. “Well, it was (expletive). I was like, ‘Uh, well, I don’t want to be too violent and hurt her too bad because then I’ll get in trouble. Security, come break this up.’ They never did, so that kind of sucked.
“My beautiful hair is still intact,” she added. I was desperately trying to save that and my knee. I didn’t want her to (expletive) with my knee, so I did what I needed to do to nullify the situation. I punched her in the face a few times. I made her run away like a little (expletive). She didn’t want none of this.”
Herrig’s last fight inside the cage took place at UFC 229 in 2018, where she lost to Michelle Waterson via unanimous decision.
