Felipe Arantes will once again fight in Brazil.
The featherweight veteran, who built his 3-2-1 UFC record competing in his home country, is scheduled to face off against Andre Fili at the UFC 179 pay-per-view show on Oct. 25 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. UFC officials announced the bout on Wednesday.
Arantes (16-6-1, 2 no-contests) dominated Strikeforce and Sengoku veteran Maximo Blanco in his last appearance inside the Octagon in February, returning to the win column following his only loss over the past five bouts, a split decision loss to Edimilson Souza.
Fili (13-2) looks to redeem himself after his first loss in four years, tapping to Max Holloway at UFC 172. Prior to that bout, the Team Alpha Male featherweight finished Jeremy Larsen via TKO in a 148-pound catchweight bout at UFC 166.
UFC 179 takes place at the Maracanazinho gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and is headlined by a featherweight title bout between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes. The other bouts already official for the card are Glover Teixeira vs. Phil Davis and Wilson Reis vs. Scott Jorgensen.
