UFC heavyweight Carlos Felipe has personal reasons to call out fellow countryman Raphael Pessoa.

UFC heavyweight Carlos Felipe knew exactly who he wanted to fight next after his win over Yorgan de Castro at UFC Fight Island 5. In his post-fight interview, ‘Boi’ was quick to challenge fellow countryman Raphael Pessoa for his next outing, for reasons unclear until now.

In an interview with Combate, Felipe explained why he would like to take on Pessoa in the near future. According to Carlos, Raphael betrayed their mutual friend, coach Domingues, and Boi wishes to even the score in the Octagon if the UFC matchmakers allow him to do so.

“He’s a coward, a hypocrite, a traitor and a liar. He’s ducking me. He dropped the guy who made his whole career happen in Brazil. As soon as he signed with the UFC, he dumped our friend Domingues. He says he doesn’t know what we’re talking about, but we know he’s lying. Domingues is a friend of ours, even more so of my manager, Leo Pateira. We all know what happened.”

“I want to see if he’ll duck me know, for the whole world to see.” Felipe continued. “He’s saying I’m not on his level. but he’s the one not on my level. Wake up. Still, I’ll do you the favor of fighting me. I want to fight him before he gets cut, because he’s coming off two losses. Dana, Mick, please make it happen. It’s Raphael Pessoa, also known as wuss.”

Before his win over Yorgan de Castro, Carlos Felipe (9-1) dropped a majority decision to Sergey Spivak in his UFC debut, back in July. Raphael Pessoa (10-2), on the other hand, was TKO’d by Tanner Boser in last outing, but is not on a two-fight skid, like Boi suggested. Prior to the loss, ‘Bebezao’ actually picked up a unanimous decision victory over Jeff Hughes.
