Tony Ferguson thinks Jon Jones should be ranked higher than Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Khabib Nurmagomedov has surpassed Jon Jones as the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world following his submission victory over Justin Gaethje at UFC 254, but ‘Bones’ believes he is the more accomplished fighter.
Jones (26-1 MMA, 20-1 UFC, 1 NC) defended his UFC light heavyweight title eleven times before vacating the belt earlier this year. Khabib (29-0, 13-0 UFC), however, has just three title defenses to his name but is perhaps the most dominant fighter in UFC history, having lost just two rounds in his career.
Whichever side of the debate you’re on, UFC veteran Tony Ferguson wants Jones to know that he has the former champ’s back and agrees with his assessment of the newly updated UFC rankings, which sees Khabib ranked No. 1 and Jones No. 2.

“This guy gets it,” Ferguson posted in response to one of Jones’ Tweets.
Nurmagomedov retired in the octagon following his submission win over Gaethje and pleaded with the UFC to update the rankings to reflect his GOAT status.
For what it’s worth, UFC legend Georges St-Pierre doesn’t believe any fighter is deserving of such a label but ranks Khabib as one of the greatest of all time.
