I know you’re not allowed to mention the dangers of MMA without violating some kind of douchey bro-code, so I’ll make it short and sweet to keep the “shut up, pussy” Emails to a minimum.
The kind of beating Tony Ferguson took in the UFC 249 main event is the kind of beating that could potentially change his career, as well as his longterm health. That’s probably why it was hard for me to watch “El Cucuy” absorb those head shots in super slow motion.
I also felt bad that he lost his opportunity to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov for the lightweight title, but at the same time, I felt good for Justin Gaethje. The death of one dream gives birth to another, and now “The Highlight” has the potential to make history this summer on “Fight Island.”
UFC 249: “Fight Motion” covered most of the slow-motion highlights from the “Ferguson vs. Gaethje” event last weekend in Jacksonville, Florida, save for Francis Ngannou’s splattering of fellow heavyweight bruiser Jairzinho Rozenstruick. I’m sure “Bigi Boy” is okay with that decision.
