Sounds like Tony Ferguson (25-11) is ready to mount his MMA comeback.

The former UFC interim lightweight champion recently told his social media followers that “fight news” is “coming soon” after receiving “new missions” for 2025. If “El Cucuy” still has bouts left on his UFC contract, then matchmakers will be contractually obligated to book him for an upcoming event.

Unless they grant the former TUF guy his unconditional release to compete elsewhere.

Ferguson, who turns 41 in just a few weeks, dropped his eighth straight loss by getting strangled into submission by Michael Chiesa as part of the UFC Abu Dhabi fight card last August. Despite repeated calls for his retirement — and the surrendering of one glove — it appears “El Cucuy” is not ready to walk away from MMA just yet.

“Completely Destroyed Myself … To Re-Invent It,” Ferguson wrote on Instagram. “As an Artist I Aim To show Something You’ve Never Seen Before. Happy New Year Crew. 2025 in my sights. Champ -CSO- Stay Tuned & Watch The Magic Unfold. New Missions Acknowledged. MrDestiny. Fight News Coming Soon.”

Goodbye UFC … hello GFL?
