“Being Hispanic, there are three things people do: fighting, soccer and
construction,” Ulysses Gomez jokes. “Well, I don’t like soccer, and I don’t like
yard work.”
Gomez’s brother Herculez, of course, went the soccer route and recently represented the U.S. in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
But Ulysses opted for fighting. And after success in various forms of Brazilian jiu jitsu, wrestling, Pankration and boxing, he focused on MMA. He’s already won the Tachi Palace Fights flyweight title and now looks to add Bellator’s bantamweight belt when he kicks off his tournament run next week at Bellator 27.
