What’s the fastest way to get discharged from the hospital? By proving that you’re A) uninsured and unable to pay for basic medical care or B) all patched up and ready to go home. And nothing says “get me out of here” like an impromptu dance number.
Hey, it worked for Turbo.
UFC lightweight contender Tony Ferguson was hospitalized over the weekend after getting his orbital bone broken by Justin Gaethje in the UFC 249 pay-per-view (PPV) main event on May 9 in Jacksonville, Florida.
The loss eliminated Ferguson from the Khabib Nurmagomedov title fight, which now goes to “The Highlight” at some point this summer, assuming Conor McGregor doesn’t enter the fold and try to steal “The Eagle” headliner.
“Just wasn’t my night,” Ferguson wrote on Twitter. “Congrats Justin Gaethje on a good fight.”
A timeline for Ferguson’s recovery has yet to be determined but considering the amount of damage he sustained at UFC 249, I would be shocked to see him back inside the cage before the end of the year.
