Five Fighters Drug Tested Following Final Strikeforce Event

The Oklahoma State Athletic Commission opted to drug test five of the twenty-two fighters competing at last weekends Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine event.

Those tested include headliners Tarec Saffiedine and Nate Marquardt, as well as fighters Josh Barnett, Tim Kennedy and Kurt Holobaugh. Both Marquardt and Barnett have failed tested positive in the past.

All five tested had negative results.

Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine took place on January 12, 2013 at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, in Oklahoma. Saffiedine earned a unanimous decision over Marquardt in the main event to win the welterweight title. Both men have been offered contracts with the UFC.
