Standard smack talk, or is Floyd trying to draw Conor into a rematch of their nine figure superfight?
A lot of people were pretty impressed with boxing newb Conor McGregor after he managed to make it all the way to the 10th round of his boxing match with pound for pound great Floyd Mayweather.
Even though he never had Mayweather in trouble, most expected the 49-0 (now 50-0) legend to obliterate the 0-0 (now 0-1) McGregor. Instead, Conor held his own and looked competent in the ring up until his gas tank betrayed him and Mayweather moved in for the kill.
But there were some who believed McGregor didn’t do as well as it appeared on the surface, and Mayweather was just toying with him for the majority of the fight. Now Floyd is adding his voice to that theory in a new video.
The comments came after he threw shade at Oscar De La Hoya for trying to get his own fight with McGregor.

“When Oscar de la Hoya, the same one that was talking about me fighting Conor McGregor, he was trying to protest and stop the fight!” Mayweather exclaimed. “Now he’s trying to fight Conor McGregor. Is he a hypocrite or is he back on coke again? That man, that boy still snorting the lines. Still snorting the lines!”
“Everybody try to protest the Mayweather McGregor fight. But I’m gonna tell you all the truth. You know I carried McGregor? You know I made it look good for y’all?”
There’s been some interesting footage of Mayweather back in the gym looking sharp and fast as always, and even stories that he’s been talking about one more fight. Should these jabs at McGregor indicate he’s looking to reignite the rivalry between the two? Or is it Oscar De La Hoya that he has in his sights?
We don’t know which possibility we like less.
