Following 4th straight win, UFC’s Vicente Luque wants Ellenberger or Larkin next

TUF 21 cast member and Blackzilians prospect Vicente Luque would like a step up in competition following his fourth UFC win in a row.

After his fourth UFC stoppage win in a row, TUF 21’s Vicente Luque, feels like he deserves a step up in competition. As the 24-year-old told Combate, he already has two names in mind that he would like to face next, Jake Ellenberger and Lorenz Larkin.

“My fight in Brasilia made the fans know me better and see what I can do in the 170 division,” Luque said. “Then there was the fight in New York, which I accepted for the visibility. If it wasn’t the biggest card in history, was one of the biggest ones. My opponent was known in the United States. Winning the way I won shows everyone, including the UFC, that I’m ready for a Top 15 opponent.

“After my fight, I didn’t have a name in mind, but then I studied the rankings and these two have no fights scheduled: Lorenz Larkin and Jake Ellenberger. Ellenberger has fought top guys and is a big name in the division. Larkin is an interesting fight, especially for the fans. I’m a striker and he also has high level striking. Everyone would like to watch that kind of fight, where both guys would be trying to knock the other one out for three rounds.”

Ellenberger is currently scheduled to fight Jorge Masvidal on the TUF 24 Finale on December 3rd, while Larkin is currently testing free agency.

In his last outing, Vicente Luque knocked out Belal Muhammad in the 1st round at UFC 205. Before that he had another first-round KO over Hector Urbina, as well as two submission wins over Alvaro Herrera and Hayder Hassan.
