Rob Font scored a huge knockout win over former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Bantamweight contender, Marlon Moraes, a few weeks ago at UFC Vegas 17 inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It was a huge win on many levels, as Font got over the hump in a huge showdown after coming up short in previous ones against the likes of Raphael Assuncao and Pedro Munhoz. It also earned him a Top 5 ranking.
But Font is resting on his laurels following his huge victory, as he intends to dive into deeper waters in hopes of running into a big shark.
“After we get through Calvin Kattar’s fight, I’m thinking sometime in March would be good. The first option would be TJ Dillashaw. He’s a big name, the former champ, and if that doesn’t happen, I want Jose Aldo,” Font declared in a recent interview with BJPenn.com.
Of course, Font is teammates with Kattar so he is currently helping him prepare for his big fight against Max Holloway, which is set to headline UFC Fight Island 7 on Jan. 16, 2021 on “Fight Island.” After that, Font is looking to shift the focus back on himself against a former champion.
Dillashaw is nearing the end of his two-year suspension, while Aldo is also riding high of his big win over Marlon Vera, also at UFC Vegas 17. And while a matchup against either man would be great for Font, he may have to look elsewhere because it seems Dillashaw and Aldo are eying a fight against one another.
