Former undisputed UFC flyweight champion, Alexa Grasso is set for a significant spell on the sideline, with former pound-for-pound number one confirming a leg fracture suffered in training following her title fight loss to three-fight rival, Valentina Shevchenko.
Grasso, a former undisputed flyweight champion and the current number one ranked contender, most recently co-headlined Noche UFC at the Las Vegas Sphere in September, suffering a unanimous decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-45) loss to Shevchenko in the pair’s trilogy fight.
Dropping her championship as a result, Grasso had previously battled to a split decision draw against the two-time champion, having landed a stunning upset submission win over Shevchenko in March of last year to kick off her surprising title reign.

However, amid a call out from Erin Blanchfield following her decision win over ex-champion, Rose Namajunas last month, Grasso is likely set to face some time away from the Octagon, revealing a serious leg fracture suffered during training,
“Broke my leg [during] training,” Alexa Grasso posted on her official Instagram account. “But I’m fine… everything sana… time to time. Send me lots of love so that that bone hits right.”
Before her title ascension, Mexican fan-favorite, Grasso had landed notable wins over the likes of Viviane Araujo, Maycee Barber, Joanne Wood, and former title challenger, Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
