Former UFC welterweight turned Bellator hopeful Curtis Millender believes the criticism against Michael ‘Venom’ Page is warranted.
Millender (3-2 UFC, 18-5 MMA) says Page (17-1 MMA) has been ducking him ever since ‘Curtious’ signed with Bellator last year and believes fans are right to criticize the Brit for his underwhelming level of competition in the Bellator cage.
Speaking to BJPENN.com in a recent interview, Millender explained that he was originally set to make his Bellator debut against Page but alleges that MVP turned him down for an easier opponent.
“That was supposed to be my first big fight and it never happened, before I signed to the UFC, and now after it was supposed to happen,” Millender told BJPENN.com. “I’m not the one that doesn’t want it. I’ve even offered to step in on short notice and fight him but it’s never happened. The ball is in his court. I just honestly believe he does not want to fight me.”

Millender is also open to a possible fight with former UFC and Bellator welterweight Rory MacDonald but says beating Page is his No. 1 priority right now.
“That is a very possible option,” Millender said of MacDonald, who signed with PFL last month. “A good look and Rory MacDonald is over there and that has been my dream fight. I’m here to get the money so wherever I get that, they can get my services.”
“Equal pay and equal notoriety, I have to go with MVP. That is just because life won’t be right unless I will be able to slap him.”
Millender made his Bellator debut last night on the Bellator 238 preliminary card, beating Moses Murrietta via unanimous decision. The 32-year-old holds notable wins over of Thiago Alves and Siyar Bahadurzada and has won titles in various MMA promotions outside of the UFC and Bellator.
