Former World Extreme Cagefighting Bantamweight champion Brian Bowles (8-1) is out with a broken right foot and will have to wait for a chance to climb the ladder back into title contention.
Bolwes had been scheduled to face Wagnney Fabiano (14-2) at the upcoming Nov. 11 WEC 52 event in Las Vegas. No news on a replacement has surfaced at this time.
The former champ lost his title in his last fight having suffered a TKO defeat to Dominick Cruz last March at WEC 47. Bowles suffered a broken hand in that fight causing the doctor to call a stoppage to the bout.
Bowles had earned five straight wins under the WEC banner before the loss, having defeated the likes of Miguel Torres, Will Ribeiro, Damacio Page, Marcos Galvao, and Charlie Valencia in those wins.
