Dustin Poirier, prior to getting finished by Conor McGregor, was a top contender in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight division. In fact, “The Diamond” earned his “Notorious” showdown by winning three straight, including his technical knockout win over Akira Corassani.
That fight, which took place at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): “Nations” Finale, is embedded above.
Poirier’s striking will definitely be a factor against Michael “The Menace” Johnson (his free fight here) this Saturday night (Sept. 17, 2016) during their UFC Fight Night 94 lightweight main event, which takes place inside State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas, live on FOX Sports 1.
That’s just three days away.
