Demian Maia will look to collect his third straight win this Saturday (Oct. 26, 2019) when he faces Ben Askren in the main event of UFC Fight Night 162 inside Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore on ESPN+.

The fight will pit two of the best grapplers in the world against one another, as Ben is one of the best wrestlers in the game today, while Maia has made his bread twisting people up like pretzels.

For Ben, it will be his chance to get back into the win column after suffering a knockout loss to Jorge Masvidal in just five seconds at UFC 239 (highlights). Getting one against Maia, however, will be no easy task, as he is still one of the best fighters in the game today.

Those skills were on full display when he faced Carlos Condit in the main event of UFC on FOX 21 back in 2016. Looking to keep the fight standing, Condit — the former interim Welterweight champion of the world — didn’t get his wish, as Maia took the fight down to the mat in less than a minute.

From there, Demian did his thing, maneuvering his way to position to try and sink in one of his submissions. “The natural Born Killer,” however, was not willing to go easy, as he used his defense as best he could.

Two minutes later, however, Maia sunk in a rear-naked choke that forced a tap.

Now, Demian will look to insert himself into the title picture against in a highly-crowded division by taking “Funky” out while handing him his second straight defeat.
