Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion, Mauricio Rua, will make his mixed martial arts (MMA) return in the upcoming UFC Fight Night 134 main event, locked and loaded for this Sunday night (July 22, 2018) inside Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany.
Because “Shogun” fights so infrequently, casual fans may have forgotten what the Brazilian is capable of inside the Octagon. So, with that in mind, the promotion opted to release his “Fight of the Night” against longtime rival Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 1900.
The pair previously battled to a three round decision — in favor of Rua — at the PRIDE: “Critical Countdown 2005” event in Japan.
Trying to put an end to Rua’s title aspirations is up-and-coming light heavyweight bruiser Anthony Smith, who replaced Volkan Oezdemir after “No Time” split to settle his stateside legal affairs earlier this month.
