185-pound Championship, Heavyweight Superfight & 145-pound Interim Title up for Grabs at Rumble @ the Roseland 62
Press Release – Portland, OR – On Saturday, March 10th 2012 the Full Contact Fighting Federation (FCFF) is back in Portland, OR for Rumble @ The Roseland 62. The FCFF is bringing three outstanding Title Fights including the return of Josh Bartlett the 185-pound FCFF Champion and FCFF veteran Heavyweight fighter: Damion Martindale. The FCFF is still buzzing off the excitement of their January event, in which the FCFF celebrated 10 years in business with a blowout, sellout event. The FCFF is the premiere cage fighting organization in the Northwest; Inside MMA (television show) coined the FCFF the as the “Golden Gloves of MMA.” Fighters are making their way from four states to compete on March 10th at Rumble @ The Roseland 62. Do not miss it! Tickets are on sale at Tickets West (Safeway) and at the door of the Roseland Theater starting at 6pm with the fights beginning at 7pm.
The Main Event at Rumble @ The Roseland 62 is the Middleweight 185-pound Championship Fight. The current FCFF Champion and fan favorite John Bartlett of 503WCJJ returns after almost a one year break from FCFF competition. He last fought at Rumble at the Roseland 58 on July 16th, 2011. There he defeated the ultra tough Josh Hitsman via an impressive TKO due to strikes in the second round. On March 10th he may face his toughest competition to date: Bryson French. French was the “Fighter to Watch in 2012” from the FCFF’s Annual Hall of Fame and is taking on the Champ. French has a dominating physique, work ethic and skill set. French wants to upgrade the Middleweight Superfight belt he earned at Rumble @ the Roseland 60 on December 3rd 2011 by defeating top contender Nathan Allen via crowd stopping knockout in round number one, to the 185-pound Championship belt. “This main event brings a proven champ against the top young talent in the FCFF. It either cements John’s position as the undisputed Champ or ushers in a new era for Bryson. Our fans are excited to see this match up,” said Kevin Keeney FCFF owner and matchmaker.
The Heavyweight Superfight brings Darron O’Donnell (7-1) back to the cage from January’s epic anniversary event. O’Donnell suffered his first-EVER loss and wants to prove himself against FCFF veteran Damion Martindale. Martindale, a past two-time FCFF Heavyweight Champion is back and more ready than ever to take back his former dominate position in the FCFF. These two heavy-hitters will put on a great fight. The majority of O’Donnell’s seven victories have been via knockout in the Midtown, Rouge Warrior and Alive MMA’s fight productions. O’Donnell and Martindale’s focus is on the FCFF Belt. “I want to be the best pound-for-pound Heavyweight in Oregon,” says O’Donnell. Martindale has a laundry list of accomplishments in collegiate wrestling, MMA and a stellar personality to match. His most highlighted wrestling match comes from a tournament in 1997 where he beat Brock Lesner in a match. The 145-pound interim Title Fight features rising star out of Scappoose, Oregon: Travis Sue. Just like Heavyweight Superfight contender Darron O’Donnell, Sue was part of the January Anniversary show last month. Sue had a “Fight of the Night” first round knockout victory against Chris Gillespie in only 48 seconds. This is very significant as Gillespie was also climbing the division ranks seeking the Title belt. Sue will bring an undefeated record of 4-0 to the cage on March 10th to face Damon Jordon of Reality Combat.
