Brazilian strawweigths Claudia Gadelha and Marina Rodriguez will square off on May 2.

After having her bout cancelled on weigh-in day because Alexa Grasso missed weight by 5.5 pounds, former strawweight title challenger Claudia Gadelha did not go too long without a fight booked.

Per UFC Brazil’s official Instagram, Gadelha will now take on fellow Brazilian Marina Rodriguez at UFC Oklahoma City, in May.

In her last outing, Claudia Gadelha (17-4) bested Randa Markos via unanimous decision back in July 2019. With the win, the 31-year-old bounced back from a unanimous decision defeat to Nina Ansaroff, in December 2018.

Undefeated prospect Marina Rodriguez (12-0-2) will look to continue her unbeaten streak after fighting Cynthia Calvillo to a majority draw back in December 2019. Before that, the 32-year-old scored back-to-back unanimous decision wins over both Tecia Torres and Jessica Aguilar.

Now, Claudia Gadelha is expected to meet Marina Rodriguez at UFC Fight Night 167, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on May 2. So far no main event has been officially announced to headline the card.
