Gegard Mousasi: ‘I know how Chris Weidman is going to fight’

Gegard Mousasi thinks he has a good read on Chris Weidman ahead of their UFC 210 matchup.

Gegard Mousasi is on the rise, and he’s looking to take out another former champion on his way to a UFC middleweight title shot. He’ll meet New York’s Chris Weidman in the co-main event of UFC 210 next weekend, and while they have been trading shots back and forth in the lead-up to the bout, Mousasi went for the more direct approach at the recent UFC 210 pre-fight conference call. He said he knows what’s coming, and he’s ready (via MMA Junkie):

“I know how Chris Weidman’s going to fight. He’s going to come forward, he’s going to try to put the pressure on me, work on the cardio, do some wrestling, do some striking. But at the end of the day I’m prepared, I know exactly what he’s going to do, so I’m more than prepared. I got my skills, and I’m going to show it the 8th of April. I’m very confident, that’s all I can say.”

“I’m just speaking my mind. I’m not acting. I’m not an actor. Some guys, they’re good at trash talking. They put on an act like WWE. But at the end of the day I’m just me, I’m just speaking my mind. I’m coming to fight.”

Weidman (13-2, 9-2 UFC) is looking to break a two-fight losing streak, while Mousasi (41-6-2, 8-3 UFC) is looking to extend his four-fight winning streak. UFC 210 goes down on April 8th in Buffalo, NY.
