For Georges St-Pierre, winning another world title won’t mean much in the grand scheme of things.

Probably because “Rush” has won more titles than anyone on the current UFC roster. That said, winning another one wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.

But during his recent appearance on The MMA Hour, Georges revealed that obtaining another title isn’t at the top of his to-do list, as fighting the biggest names in the sport is more important for him at this stage of his stalled career.

His words (via MMA Fighting):

“I’m gonna tell you something. The belt is the title and maybe I shouldn’t say that. Maybe my manager will be angry. Yes, the belt means a lot. I would rather be known as the best ever than holding the belt. If you’re the best and even if you don’t have the belt and you’re the best, it’s more gratifying. The belt is a material thing. It’s good. I won it a few times. But I want to fight the best, the biggest name.”

Of course, St-Pierre hasn’t done much fighting over the last few years after opting to put his combat sports career on pause.

However, the former welterweight champion is getting the itch to return to the Octagon and recently revealed that if UFC officials can hash out a new contract to make up for the money he’ll lose out on sponsorship due to the Reebok deal, he will give his managers the green light to ramp up negotiations.

As for what “big names” are available for him to fight, the biggest one in the sport is currently retired, as Conor McGregor revealed he’d be calling it quits; likely because of this.

That said, anyone care to offer up other “big name” suggestions?
