Gian Villante vs. Derrick Mehmen slated for ‘Strikeforce: Barnett vs. Cormier’

A light-heavyweight bout between Gian Villante and Derrick Mehmen is slated for next month’s “Strikeforce: Barnett vs. Cormier” event.

Villante, a New Yorker, recently alerted newsday.com of the matchup.

However, Strikeforce executives haven’t formally the bout, which takes place May 19 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.
