I’m not easily moved by pre-fight hype, in the same way a veteran baker is not easily tempted by a jelly donut, but this one got to me because Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead or Alive” was my jam back in middle school, long before we used phrases like “my jam.” Partly because Jonny and I grew up in the same county, but mostly because this song kicks ass.
Before that it was Motley Crue’s “Home Sweet Home” (pretend to care).
Anyway, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President, Dana White, leaked the UFC 246 opening pay-per-view (PPV) promo, the one that typically kicks off the event. Listen as “Wanted Dead or Alive” wails in the background while official-voice-guy pimps the Conor McGregor vs. Donald Cerrone welterweight main event, going down this Sat. night (Jan. 18, 2020) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Get hyped.
