Former UFC heavyweight champion, Frank Mir, snapped Tim Sylvia’s arm at UFC 48 in Las Vegas. A few years later, Mir would crush Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira’s wing like a bag of potato chips (his words).

A muscular heavyweight with a black belt in jiu jitsu is a dangerous man.

That’s why Global Fight League (GFL) will fight fire with fire, booking Mir against the new-look Fabricio Werdum, a two-time gold medalist for Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC) and the only fighter to submit heavyweight legend, Fedor Emelianenko.

Hopefully Mir doesn’t get poisoned along the way.

Sounds like a joke from the Brazilian’s new comedy club.

Mir (19-13) has not competed since capturing a unanimous decision victory over Roy Nelson at Bellator 231. As for Werdum (24-10-1, 1 NC), two years older than Mir at 47, he’s been inactive since dropping a split nod to Junior dos Santos for Gamebred MMA in late 2023.
