What’s up with bodybuilders wanting to get hurt by mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters?
Last week, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) two-division fighter Amanda Ribas, who is ranked No. 7 in the Strawweight division and No. 10 in the Flyweight division, did a training session with Brazilian professional bodybuilder Julio Balestrin.
The session started with simple pad work, but then Balestrin made the questionable decision to try to grapple with Ribas. In her trademark annoying but cute laugh, Ribas kept away from the gigantic bodybuilder, but when he tried to rush in and take her down, Ribas took him down, slamming him on his face.

Bodybuilders seem to be fascinated by MMA fighters, and some are dumb enough to get kicked by pro fighters. Oh, and some bodybuilders become fighters.
Ribas returns to action this Dec. at UFC Tampa in a rematch with Mackenzie Dern. The two fighters fought at UFC Fight Night: Joanna vs. Waterson, which also took place in Tampa, FL. Ribas won a unanimous decision.
