It didn’t take long for UFC women’s flyweight Gillian Robertson to get her next fight lined up.
Not even a week after an impressive showing at UFC 240, Canadian women’s flyweight Gillian Robertson has her next fight lined up.
ESPN reported on Tuesday that Robertson is set to face prospect Maycee Barber at UFC Boston on Friday, October 18th. Both fighters have since confirmed the matchup on social media.
Robertson (7-3) has quietly racked up a 4-1 record inside the Octagon. She’s coming off a secon-dround TKO finish of Sarah Frota at UFC 240, which followed a rear-naked choke finish of Veronica Macedo. All but one of her wins have come via stoppage, with Frota representing her first victory by knockout.
Barber (7-0) has looked the part of rising phenom since being signed off of Dana White’s Contender Series last year. The 20-year-old wowed with her emphatic TKO victory of Hannah Cifers last November, but did have a bit more difficulty against J.J. Aldrich at UFC Nashville this past March. She nevertheless showcased her striking power and won that by second-round TKO.
UFC Boston is headlined by the light heavyweight debut of former middleweight champion Chris Weidman, who is scheduled to take on rising contender Dominick Reyes. The night’s main card airs live on ESPN.
