Check out what Jon Jones had to say about the Glover Teixeira vs. Thiago Santos main event at last night’s UFC Vegas 13.

For a guy who’s moving up to heavyweight, Jon Jones sure is keeping a close eye on the goings on at 205.

The former light heavyweight kingpin once again took to Twitter during the weekend’s UFC main event, sharing a mix of congratulatory and somewhat salty tweets as he watched 41 year old Glover Teixeira survive several blitzes to submit Thiago Santos in the third round.

Let’s line up Jon’s tweets with the fight so you can follow along with the GOAT contender. Glover survives an early skull smashing to take down Santos and keep him down through the remainder of round 1:

Glover nearly chokes out Santos at the end of round two, but then gets blitzed again in round 3, only to turn it around and finally tap “Maretta”:

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Jon Jones tweetfest without some trolling. Sounds like he’s still annoyed with the recency bias displayed by people calling Khabib the GOAT over him:

And this may have more to do with Jones disliking the current next challenger for the lightweight title, Israel Adesanya, than being real bullish on Teixeira:

There was some shade thrown at Thiago Santos, too.

What’s more interesting in our eyes is how Reyes and Santos were defeated inside the distance by ‘lesser’ opposition than Jones, who had to take the fights via close decisions. This is the second fight in a row where Teixeira has finished an opponent Jones decisioned. Not to get all crazy the MMA math, but it seems some people are still confused as to why Khabib Nurmagomedov took the #1 pound for pound spot from Jon Jones based on their last stretch of competition.

But we gotta hand it to Jones, he’s still one of the top dogs in the UFC at causing a stir on social media without actually having a fight signed. Is he number 1? Well, that’s debatable too.
