During his HBO run over the past few years, Gennady Golovkin has turned into arguably boxing’s #1 must watch fighter right now. The Kazakh powerhouse is a feared puncher who has both the power and technical skills to make every fighter he has faced look sorely inferior. He’s undefeated, and it’s been 20 fights and over 7 years since he even saw the final bell. He had a minor stumble last year when his PPV outing against David Lemieux did not deliver at the box office, but he remains a major figure for HBO. Golovkin is angling for a Canelo foght later this year – let’s hope that happens. Until then, it’s another overmatched foe here in former ShoBox fighter Dominic Wade.
