Davion Franklin has two first round knockout wins under the Bellator banner totaling a time of three minutes and 42 seconds. The heavy-hitting Heavyweight, though, shattered that time in his most recent knockout win.
“All Day” made quick work of Everett Cummings earlier tonight (Fri., Aug. 13, 2021) at Bellator 264, running right over him in the opening round of their Heavyweight tile. And it took all of 21 seconds.
Cummings started things off with a low kick that did pretty much nothing. Franklin then landed an oblique kick, followed it up with a high kick and then a huge right hand that dropped his foe. From there he pounced on Cummings to earn a lightening-quick stoppage win.
The loss was Cummings’ first ever after going 15-0-1 to start his MMA career, while Franklin improves to 4-0 in his young combat career. Though he has only been fighting professionally for a little over a year, he has already made big waves in Bellator’s Heavyweight division.
After the fight, Franklin called out longtime veteran Cheick Kongo to a fight, but the former UFC big man has business to take care of next week at Bellator 265 when he takes on Sergei Kharitonov in the headlining act.
