Justin Gaethje reveals he suffered a nasty cut in training.
Justin Gaethje appears to be training hard — perhaps a little to hard — in preparation for his highly anticipated lightweight title unification bout with Khabib Nurmagomedov later this year.
‘The Highlight’ revealed on social media on Tuesday that he suffered a nasty cut during wrestling practice and will require stitches (h/t BT Sports’ Chamatkar Sadhu).

“Going to need a few stitches today. Caught an accidental headbutt during wrestling today,” Gaethje posted.
Gaethje captured the interim UFC lightweight title after disposing of Tony Ferguson via fifth-round TKO in the UFC 249 main event last month and will likely challenge official lightweight champ Nurmagomedov at UFC 253 on September 19, according to UFC president Dana White.
Gaethje, the former WSOF lightweight champion, is on a four-fight KO streak and widely considered one of, if not the, most dangerous fighters in the lightweight division. Gaethje has vicious knockout power in both hands and has finished all but two of his twenty two wins via stoppage.
UFC 253, which will likely feature Khabib vs. Gaethje as the main event, is expected to take place on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
