A rundown of the biggest headlines and news from the world of competitive grappling.

It’s time to hide your heels, Eddie “The Wolverine” Cummings is back and looking to take home gold at Fight 2 Win 108 where he faces William Wolk.

Cummings’ appearances in matches has been sporadic over the past few years as he has dealt with numerous injuries and illnesses, which have lead him to pull out of big tournaments. Cummings was forced to withdraw from an EBI and ADCC over the last two years, but now he’s looking to get back into the swing of things and build upon a winning performance over Renato Canuto in 2018.

As far as the modern game goes, it is hard to find one grappler who has been as influential in the changing of the meta. Cummings’ leglock game was revolutionary when he first came onto the scene and he forced the rest of the grappling world to embrace the heelhook game or get tapped out.

With Cummings now training at Unity, it will be interesting to see if there will be any new developments in his game.
