It looks like the fans concur that Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz 2 is the greatest UFC fight of all-time.
The UFC spent March unveiling the top-25 greatest fights in the promotion’s 25-year history. Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz II took the top spot, while their first fight was the runner-up. You can see the entire list here, and notice the complete lack of any bouts prior to season to the first season of The Ultimate fighter.
After the UFC put out its rankings, they seeded them for a tournament to have the fans determine for themselves what the best UFC fight ever truly is. Using Twitter polls, the final four consisted of Diaz vs. McGregor 2, Robbie Lawler vs. Rory MacDonald 2, Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson, and Eddie Alvarez vs. Justin Gaethje.
The Diaz-McGregor rematch edged out Lawler-MacDonald rematch by a 51%-49% scoreline, while Jones-Gustafsson breezed past Alvarez-Gaethje 65-35%.
Sunday is championship day. Voting is underway to determine if Diaz-McGregor 2 or Jones-Gustafsson is the greatest fight in UFC history. The poll closes on Monday, and Diaz-McGregor 2 currently has the advantage.
