Greg Hardy is apparently taking one more bout outside the UFC before his Octagon debut.
It looks like former NFL player Greg Hardy is one fight away from making his UFC debut. According to a report from ESPN, Hardy will take another bout outside the UFC, competing for Island Fights in Florida on December 21st. And if he is as successful there as he has been in prior bouts, his ticket to the Octagon will be punched.
The 30-year-old Hardy (3-0) made his pro debut on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in June, stopping his opponent by KO in under a minute. Another Contender Series fight followed, where he picked up a KO victory in just 17 seconds. Most recently he competed on an Xtreme Fight Night card late last month, adding another knockout to his resume – this one coming in 53 seconds.
Hardy also has three amateur bouts under his belt, with all of them finishing the same way as his pro fights – via knockout.
The former Dallas Cowboy and Carolina Panther was a controversial signing by the UFC due to his past convictions, including one for domestic assault.
If he wins in December, he is expected to make his UFC debut in early 2019.
