Clay Guida has refused to file any charges against Nate Diaz for the Combate Americas brawl that they were involved in last May.
Last May, Nate Diaz and his crew were involved in a scuffle between Clay Guida and Tyler Diamond. According to a statement from manager John Fosco, Guida ended up being shoved from behind, which caused him to split his lip open when it hit a guardrail while Diamond was also hit with the infamous Stockton slap.
At the time, Guida was set on pressing charges against the younger Diaz brother, but as of Friday, these plans are no longer taking place. According to a report by MMAjunkie, Guida’s choice to not take legal action has resulted in further investigations to be put to a halt. The reason behind this decision, however, was not specified.
The case was assigned to detectives, who took statements from the involved parties while trying to determine probable cause for an arrest warrant. But with Guida declining to prosecute, the criminal investigation is concluded.
Diaz is currently booked to face Dustin Poirier at UFC 230, which takes place on November 3rd at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
