Anthony Smith’s brother from another mother is still fighting next week.
Multiple sources confirmed to MMAmania.com today (Sat., Jan. 11, 2025) that No. 13 ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight Bogdan Guskov will remain on UFC 311 next weekend and will fight UFC newcomer Billy Elekana inside the brand-new Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California.
Guskov was scheduled to fight No. 10 Johnny Walker; however, Walker announced he was injured and had to pull out (details here).
While Guskov (16-3) lost his UFC debut in 2023, the Uzbekistan fighter has looked absolutely tremendous since. In his last outing, he stopped Ryan Spann to claim a Top 15 ranking (watch highlights), and before that, he starched Zac Pauga in under four minutes (watch highlights).
Elekana (7-1) enters the UFC riding a three-fight win streak and has two wins under the Professional Fighters League (PFL) banner. In his last outing, he obliterated Jureall Simmons at LXF 18 in under two minutes.
The 29-year-old might have three decisions on his record, but make no mistake, he has scary knockout power.
With the addition of Guskov vs. Elekana, here is the finalized UFC 311 fight card.
