Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White guaranteed that former two-division champion Conor McGregor would not fight for the rest of the year after “Notorious” announced yet another retirement from mixed martial arts (MMA).
That said, White did not rule out a possible return in 2021, which means A) the Irishman is not retired or B) that word no longer has any meaning. Either way, longtime McGregor rival Nate Diaz is having a good laugh over this latest turn of events.
“Lol sit your ass down till 2021,” Diaz wrote (and later deleted) on Twitter.
Considering Diaz will probably be sitting his ass down until 2021, I’m not sure the Stockton slapper has much room to talk. In fact, Diaz — who turned 35 back in April — has competed just twice since his McGregor rematch nearly four years ago.
Calling it now: Diaz vs. McGregor “special” trilogy in 2021 … who’s with me?!?
