Former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Heavyweight Champion Jake Hager, better known by his in-ring name “Jack Swagger,” will make his mixed martial arts (MMA) return against regional bruiser Anthony Garrett on the Bellator 231 main card on Oct. 25, 2019 inside Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.
That’s according to a report from ESPN.
Hager (2-0) has competed twice for Scott Coker and Co., racking up two straight wins with two first-round submission finishes. The 37 year-old Oklahoman is currently moonlighting as an attraction for Capitol Wrestling in New Jersey.
As for Garrett (4-2), he’s been doing work for Shamrock FC in St. Louis, where he’s coming off a technical knockout loss to Jordan Mitchell last June. The 6’5” power puncher, 29, also holds a 2-1 record on the amateur circuit.
Bellator 231 will be headlined by the heavyweight hoss fight pitting Frank Mir opposite fellow UFC veteran Roy Nelson on Paramount and DAZN.
