A potential slugfest is on tap for a UFC show in Las Vegas in early 2020.

With 2019 drawing to a close, the UFC is building its schedule for 2020.

MMA Junkie reported on Sunday that lightweight striker Nasrat Haqparast and Drew Dober are slated to fight on a UFC card on January 18th. It is expected that this card will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, which falls in line with Conor McGregor’s desire to compete on that event.

Haqparast (11-2) most recently knocked out Joaquim Silva at UFC Newark in August. The 24-year-old German dropped his Octagon debut to Marcin Held in 2017, but has since rattled off three straight wins over Marc Diakiese, Thibault Gouti, and most recently Silva. Nine of Haqparast’s 11 wins have come by KO or TKO.

Dober (21-9, 1 NC) bounced back from a submission loss to Beneil Dariush by knocking out Marco Polo Reyes in just 67 seconds at UFC Minneapolis in June. After just one win in his first five UFC appearances, he’s won four of his last five bouts, including a tremendous Fight of the Night war with Frank Camacho at welterweight.

It’s not yet known if the January 18th show will be a pay-per-view or a Fight Night.
